This year, UtrechtDownUnder is all about “Heilige Huisjes” –  a phrase that translates literally to “sacred houses” but is known in English as “sacred cows,” referring to ideas, traditions, or institutions regarded as beyond criticism. Kunstliefde and FAAM are joining forces for a pop-up exhibition featuring seven artists and two researchers. The setting for this exhibition is a sacred house of stone: the Mennonite Church on the Oudegracht in Utrecht.

In November and December 2024, artists and researchers will offer perspectives on various “Heilige Huisjes” through their works and a supporting program.

Sacred Houses will be open from November 29 to December 15, 2024:

Friday: 14:00 – 22:00
Saturday: 10:00 – 22:00*
Sunday: 14:00 – 18:00

*With the exception of December 14. On that day, we are open until 6:00 PM, and in the evening, there will be a Chamber Choir concert organized by Ilmatar Chamber Choir. The exhibition will be available in a scaled-down form during this time. You can purchase tickets for the concert here.
